Team Challenge

Team Challenge is a fantastic activity for all ages and abilities and is extremely popular with hen parties. The activity is run in area around your accommodation so you don't have to travel anywhere. The basic idea is that your party is split into teams with each team having its own guide/scorekeeper. The teams then have to compete against each other and against the clock. It's fantastic fun and everybody has some skill that the team can use as there are a huge range of games, puzzles and challenges to choose from. Some challenges will be mental, some physical, some creative and others just crazy.We usually then finish in the heated swimming pool with Crocodile Frenzy a game of tactics, planning and unbelievable stupidity. Finally there is the prize giving with various awards and unbridled celebration.
Gorge Walking and Abseiling
Gorge walking is the ultimate in outdoor thrills. You will be scrambling down river beds, crawling under waterfalls and abseil into lichen covered chasms. Your challenge will be to stay dry for as long as possible. When you do get wet the fun really starts with short climbs up small waterfalls, natural obstacle courses and plunge pools - finishing off at the car park and warm dry clothing.
Monmouthshire has beautiful gorges that you can enjoy just a short drive from your accommodation, and once you have tried it there are more gorges to be explored in the Brecon Beacons and beyond. Upperfield Farm clients can have a special rate for a gorge walk combined with an abseil off a 40' bridge in the same location.
Gorge walking and abseiling are fantastic team building activities, groups are encouraged to work together to ensure that all members of the party feel supported and included within the team a really good stag or hen party activity.
Climbing.
With one of the most popular cliffs in the country on our doorstep we can offer climbing for all levels in amongst some wonderful scenery. Imagine scrambling up rock in a wooded valley with the River Wye directly below. The views are fantastic and the buzz when you get to the top, indescribable.
Recent advances in climbing equipment have made this an extremely safe activity. You will be assisting each other to get to the top and with so many climbs to choose from, all levels of fitness and ability are catered for.
This type of activity often suits parties of mixed ability and fitness as you can do as little or as much as you like so there is always something for everyone to do.
Canoeing
Paddle down the river Wye in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The water is novice friendly but it also has the occasional rapid to liven things up. You will be paddling in pairs in open canoes and can often see peregrine falcons, kingfishers, buzzards and the full riot of nature that this river can offer.
This is a great introduction for complete novices or those of a delicate disposition (EG hung-over). We can introduce you to team water polo, and relay races if you want some more action.
Caving
The same rocks that you canoe under also contains cave systems formed eons ago. If you have never tried caving you must give it a try. There is the initial thrill of fear of the unknown but once below ground there is an element of stillness and tranquillity that cannot be experienced anywhere else. Slightly further afield you can visit caves both wet and dry that have huge caverns and features that will surprise and amaze.This is a great group bonding activity, caving is really nothing like most people expect and I find groups of friends really enjoy it.
